A gunman is dead after a police-involved shooting outside a Publix on Congress Avenue in Boynton Beach. BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - A gunman was fatally shot by police Sunday after an armed robbery at a Dollar Store in Boynton Beach, police said. The man had been accused of robbing a Dollar Store and was getting ready to walk inside a Publix at the Boynton Lakes Plaza on Congress Avenue, Boynton Beach police spokeswoman Stephanie Slater said. Officers were called to the Dollar Store robbery and confronted the man outside the Publix, Slater said. Boynton Beach police detectives are investigating the armed robbery and internal affairs is conducting an administrative review of the police-involved shooting.

Officers responded to the Dollar Store at 4641 N. Congress Ave., and confronted the man outside of Publix, police said. Boynton Beach detectives are investigating the armed robbery and internal affairs is conducting an administrative review of the police-involved shooting. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is tasked with investigating the fatal police-involved shooting.

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – Miami Beach police are searching for a man who robbed a Dollar Store Friday at gunpoint. Surveillance video shows a man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt approach the cash register, brandishing what appears to be a firearm wrapped in a blue and white handkerchief. Police said the man told the clerk in Spanish, "This is a robbery and I have a gun." Police said the clerk had to ring up a box of toothpaste to open the cash register and then handed the man the cash box. Surveillance video then shows the man walk out of the store.
