A formal invitation was issued Monday by British dignitaries for the MSD marching band to perform in the 2021 London New Year's Day parade. "To be able to travel across the globe to perform is incredible," MSD principal Michelle Kefford said. The Eagle Regiment will join 8,000 performers from around the world for the event. "They're all going to have to fundraise their own way, so we're really hoping the community will assist them all in getting to London," Rivero said.

She was working on her dream at Florida Atlantic University, while living with her mother, Jan Kirkland, and Newman in a peaceful Coconut Creek neighborhood. Coconut Creek Police Department Chief Albert Arenal said Officer Andrew Renna responded a minute after the first 911 call. Margate Coconut Creek Fire Rescue took both Renna and Newman to Broward Health North where they remain on Sunday afternoon. Jason Roseman, who has a history of domestic violence, was arrested for murder and attempted murder in a domestic violence incident on Saturday in Coconut Creek.

PARKLAND, Fla. – Graduating seniors at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School will gather their diplomas in June while wearing specially-designed "MSD Strong" sashes. Herff Jones, the nationwide high school and college supply company, donated 1,1000 of the graduation attire free-of-charge to all Stoneman Douglas seniors, teachers and staff. The sash reads MSD on one side along a ribbon and the school's eagles mascot, with STRONG stitched on the other side. All Broward County graduating seniors will receive an MSD Strong ribbon lapel pin to wear during their ceremonies. Stoneman Douglas graduation ceremonies will be held June 2, nearly four months after 17 students and staff at the school were killed when a gunman opened fire.
