MIAMI - After 95 days in a hospital, Nick Williams is finally going home. "It's been an uphill battle," Williams said during a news conference Thursday morning at Jackson Memorial Hospital. Williams was under a tree waiting for a storm to pass near his Pompano Beach home in August when he was struck by lightning. On his way to the hospital, he suffered a heart attack, and it took paramedics four minutes to revive him. "His story, to have lightning strike on top of everything he's already been through, is just incredible," Dr. Nicholas Namias said.

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. - A Pompano Beach man remains unconscious days after being struck by lightning. Nick Williams was outside in the Leasureville community on Sunday, sitting under a tree in his wheelchair when he was hit by the lightning strike. According to a GoFundMe account created in Williams' name, his wheelchair was on fire when the woman arrived. Pompano Beach Fire Rescue found Williams burned and unconscious under the tree in his wheelchair. Photo shows where lightning struck the wheelchair of Nick WilliamsThe 28-year-old was later transferred to the Ryder Trauma Center Burn Unit in Miami due to his injuries.
