The Nile cruiser has become the epicenter of the virus outbreak in Egypt’s crown jewel of tourism. When passengers learned about the cases reported from their ship, Parodi said confusion quickly struck. “Some of the worst thoughts go through your head,” said Parodi, who is traveling with his cousin and mother from Miami. A 60-year-old German tourist from another Nile cruise died late Sunday, marking the country's first and only fatality so far.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Broward County residents should be taking precautionary measures, as the coronavirus continues to spread outside of China, experts said. The infectious disease specialist said Broward residents should be on alert even though there aren’t any cases reported in South Florida. The public areas of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, Port Everglades and Broward County Transit buses are being disinfected regularly, officials said. Many governments have warned against unnecessary travel to China, as efforts to contain a new and deadly coronavirus virus intensify. Travelers are already feeling the effects of public health measures. Miami International Airport screening for coronavirus at quarantine stationItaly suspended all China flights, and North Korea, Mongolia and Russia banned crossings to and from China. The Florida Health Department is working with the CDC and local public health authorities to investigate, confirm, contain and report any suspected cases.
