TV host Regis Philbin buried at Notre Dame, his alma mater
SOUTH BEND, Ind. Television host Regis Philbin, who died last week at 88, has been buried at the University of Notre Dame following a private funeral service at his alma mater, a school spokesman said. The Philbin family wanted to bring Regis back to the place he loved so much for a private funeral and burial. That occurred on Wednesday, and he is now resting in peace at Notre Dame," school spokesman Dennis Brown said in an email. The genial television host and personality graduated from Notre Dame in 1953 and was an enthusiastic alum, often returning to the South Bend campus for football games, pep rallies, banquets, concerts and other events, the South Bend Tribune reported.

And I'm sure that John Lewis would be supportive of it.The White House did not respond to questions about why the president did not attend. Michael Strahan sacks 'Live' for full-time role on 'Good Morning America'
Michael Strahan, who has been moonlighting on ABC's "Good Morning America" while co-hosting "Live with Kelly and Michael," will leave the popular daytime talk show for which he was hired to replace Regis Philbin in 2012. The former New York Giants star will leave the show in September to join an expanded role on the increasingly popular ABC News morning show. "I look forward to continuing to work with the incredible team at 'GMA,'" Strahan said. "My time with 'Live with Kelly and Michael' has been transformative, and my departure will be bittersweet," Strahan said. "Live" will begin its search for a new co-host in time for the start of the new season this fall.
