After attacks, ‘huge’ police presence at Florida Pride event
Even before a gunman opened fire at an annual LGBTQ Pride festival in Norway, police officials in a Florida city that hosts one of the largest Pride celebrations in the southeast U.S. were gearing up for “all hands on deck” to make sure the three days of festivities went off safely.
Human head found on side of Florida road
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. St. Petersburg police are investigating after a human head was found on the side of a road Tuesday morning. Authorities said the head was discovered on 38th Avenue South, between 31st and 34th Streets. Police have not said whether the victim has been identified or how they were killed. FHP catches murder suspect on Greyhound bus
ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – A murder suspect was arrested after being found on a Greyhound bus on Interstate 75, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. FHP said around 2 p.m. Thursday investigators received a request from the St. Petersburg Police Department to be on the lookout for a Greyhound bus traveling north on Interstate 75. Troopers said the bus was believed to be approaching Alachua County with a passenger wanted for murder. FHP said Troopers boarded the bus and said Christoffer King’s name. Investigators said King was transported to the Alachua County Jail.
