NAACP Pushes Biden to Back Bid to Move FBI HQ to Maryland

Two of the sites are in Prince George’s County — Greenbelt and Landover — and one is in Springfield, Virginia. The current FBI headquarters, located in D.C., is considered outdated by agency officials. “The NAACP strongly believes that choosing Prince George’s County as the FBI’s new home will do the most to advance your equity agenda,” Johnson wrote. Wes Moore and Prince George’s County Executive Angela Alsobrooks, as well as Maryland lawmakers, thanked the NAACP for the support.

Wes Moore would be visiting her campus to encourage home ownership– specifically in the Black community. “We know that when we increase home ownership it strengthens communities and it strengthens our economy,” Harris told a crowd of Bowie State students, community members and housing advocates. Moore, who addressed the gathering shortly before Harris, said that Maryland is ready to partner with the federal government to help Maryland residents achieve home ownership. According to U.S. census data there is close to a 30 percent gap between Blacks and Whites in home ownership.

Robin Hood funds over 200 poverty-fighting programs in New York City. BlackRock, Capital One and Macquarie's foundation each gave $300,000 to $500,000 to the Power Fund, Robin Hood's team told CNBC. Moore said the foundation plans to give the nonprofits in the Power Fund the same benefits of any group Robin Hood backs.
