Officers surround Cutler Bay building after intruder stands on roof
CUTLER BAY, Fla. – Miami-Dade police officers managed to convince a man to surrender on Tuesday afternoon after standing on the rooftop of a Cutler Bay building for about 20 minutes. Officers surrounded the building at 10700 Caribbean Blvd., near Southland Mall. Once the man surrendered, officers found he was not armed. After Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel examined him, officers decided to detain him and take him to a nearby hospital to undergo a psychiatric evaluation, police said.
Suspects knew victim in Southland Mall shooting
CUTLER BAY, Fla. - Miami-Dade police officers say an altercation between four people led to one man being shot Thursday inside the Southland Mall in Cutler Bay. The unidentified man was shot in the back near the Foot Action store inside the mall at 20505 South Dixie Highway. The men were reportedly last seen going through the west side of the mall, possibly towards the South Miami-Dade Busway. Sources told Local 10 the victim knew the suspects and the shooting arose from an argument between them. Employees at some stores inside of the mall, A Bags Plus Luggage, J.B. Robinson Jewelers and Sears, said their stores were on lockdown.
