HOMESTEAD, Fla. – A Miami-Dade firefighter responded to his own home Tuesday in Homestead while on duty and found his wife dead inside a bedroom. “Now they have to determine why and how that happened.”A GoFundMe page identified the victim as the wife of Firefighter Corey Logan. “Corey has been a firefighter with Miami-Dade Fire Rescue for over 20 years with almost all of those years here at Station 6,” Morales wrote. “Corey has been his wife’s caretaker for many years as she has advanced Lupus among many other medical conditions,” Morales wrote. “We did our job and put the fire out and searched as fast as we could but were too late,” Morales wrote.
Miami-Dade police bust apparent marijuana grow house in Redland
REDLAND, Fla. – Miami-Dade police surrounded a home in the county’s Redland community Tuesday morning, which authorities said was at the center of a marijuana operation. The apparent grow house is located off Southwest 280th Street near 182nd Avenue. But when police showed up, that’s when they discovered the home was actually being used as grow house. “It’s definitely scary that it’s so close, especially having kids,” she said. “You know, you don’t know if your kids are in danger, so definitely a scary thing.”
Puppy may have been shot in face, but doctors still not sure what caused injuries
HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – Veterinarians at VCA Hollywood Animal Hospital said metal found in a one-year-old dog’s jaw could possibly be an indication that the Doberman was shot. It’s heartbreaking, how someone can shoot a dog,” said Esteban Lopez, a volunteer with the Doberman Rescue League. “Here you can see the metal,” said Natalie Savo, DVM, a staff veterinarian at Hollywood Animal Hospital, pointing at an X-ray of the Doberman’s mouth. Robert is Here fights back against proposed zoning change
REDLAND, Fla. - Robert Moehling's bustling produce stand is a hallmark of the Redland community. A sign saying "Robert is Here" has been displayed prominently outside for nearly 60 years. Moehling said he's seen things change over time, but he's not happy about a proposed zoning change for an area located right across from his business. The Moehlings believe the Treo Group wants to build a complex in the area to include affordable housing units. Robert Moehling said his neighbors have asked him whether he is going to allow the zoning change to happen.
