FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A family is demanding answers after a police-involved shooting that led to the death of a man in March. Ross stood at the makeshift memorial in the vacant lot where her 27-year-old fiancée, Barry Gedeus, was shot and killed by a Fort Lauderdale police officer. Gedeus was on his bicycle in the 2300 block of Northwest Sixth Place in Fort Lauderdale. This is not the first time Morris shot and killed a suspect in the line of duty. In 2008, Morris shot and killed Timothy Brown, who was brandishing a weapon outside of a vehicle, but a grand jury found his use of force justifiable.

MIRAMAR, Fla. – A Florida Highway Patrol trooper and at least 19 law enforcement officers from four different agencies fired their weapons during a recent fatal police-involved shooting in Broward County, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. The Dec. 5 police-involved shooting remains under investigation, but the FDLE revealed one of the officers was from the Pembroke Pines Police Department, three officers were from the Miramar Police Department and 15 officers were from the Miami-Dade Police Department. “We have made a tremendous amount of progress on our investigation," Special Agent Troy Walker said about the ongoing probe. Four people died -- including UPS driver Frank Ordonez -- in the Dec. 5 shooting on Miramar Parkway. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has yet to complete the investigation.

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – Hallandale Beach police on Tuesday released the identities of the suspect and officers involved in a shooting on Monday. Police said the officers arrived to find Richard James Barker, 80, slouched over the top of a city trash bin. The officers tried to speak with Barker, at which point he turned around and pointed a Colt revolver at them, the report stated. Another resident told Wright that Barker is his neighbor. According to Hallandale Beach police, Scarpati has been with the department for 14 years and Rose has been with the department for 6 ½ years.

The man then pulled out a weapon, prompting one officer to fire multiple shots at the man, Dabney-Donovan said. Authorities at the scene of a police-involved shooting in Hallandale Beach. As per protocol, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement will conduct an investigation into the police-involved shooting.
