Florida adds 3,319 COVID-19 cases, 56 resident deaths Saturday

State recently passed 36,000 COVID-19 resident deaths

Florida’s health department reported 3,319 more COVID-19 cases Saturday and another 56 resident deaths connected to the virus.

Florida has now verified 2,289,522 COVID-19 cases since the outbreak began.

There have been 36,056 resident deaths, according to the latest health department data. Another 720 non-residents have died in Florida from COVID-19.

Coronavirus-related deaths reported in the past day include 12 in Miami-Dade County, nine in Broward County and one in Palm Beach County.

There have been 93,056 resident hospitalizations attributed to the novel coronavirus in the state.

At least 9,538,110 people have received COVID-19 vaccines in Florida, with 7,498,801 people in the state fully vaccinated.

The statewide positivity rate for yesterday’s testing was 4.41%.

Worldwide, the number of COVID-19 cases reported is over 162 million. There have been more than 3.3 million deaths attributed to the pandemic globally, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.
