Court records show 51-year-old Robert Burck was arrested Saturday. He’s widely known for wearing only white briefs, cowboy boots and a hat while playing guitar in New York City. It was the very first NASCAR national series race for Ty Gibbs, who jumped two steps from ARCA to Xfinity for his debut. Ty Gibbs is the second-youngest winner in Xfinity Series history. But as his grandson crossed the finish line, his glasses fogged and he hugged a Joe Gibbs Racing team member. JGR has yet to announce a full 2021 schedule for Ty Gibbs, but his grandfather said the details are decided by Coy Gibbs. Video shows police-involved shooting leaving man, 25, injured
PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – The Daytona Beach Police Department released a video on Friday that shows the Thursday night police-involved shooting that left Any Mansilla, 25, injured. Daytona Beach Police Chief Jakari Young told reporters Mansilla was armed with a sharp object and two officers fired their guns and another officer deployed a Taser. “It was not enough to stop the threat. The subject continued to advance towards officers.”Officers were responding to a domestic violence disturbance involving Mansilla and another man who told police officers Mansilla was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating the shooting.

Man accused of stabbing woman in eye during attack at library
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Police say a 63-year-old woman was stabbed in the eye with a pair of scissors during an attack in the children’s section of a Daytona Beach library. Officials say the woman was taken to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries to her face. According to authorities, Bedford entered the area where the woman was working Tuesday and greeted her before the attack. Police said video shows the attack was unprovoked, but detectives believe the man and woman had seen each other before. Police say Bedford faces battery and burglary charges.

Road king: Elliott wins at Daytona for 3rd straight on road
NASCARs most popular driver won the Cup Series road course race at Daytona International Speedway on Sunday, holding off hard-charging Denny Hamlin following a late restart and notching his third consecutive victory away from ovals. The 24-year-old Elliott also won on road courses at Charlotte and at Watkins Glen last year. Elliott, Hamlin and Martin Truex Jr. had the cars to beat. Making up that kind of ground on a 14-turn, 3.61-mile road course was a nearly impossible tough task, especially considering Elliott was turning mistake-free laps at the front of the field. Newman was one of the few Cup drivers with experience on Daytonas road course.

Police responded, attempting to disperse the crowds along A1A in Daytona Beach that were there for an annual gathering not authorized by the local government this year. Officials said they were criticized for not making use of force against the crowds and declining to make arrests for social distancing violations. Burger King employee stabbed in Daytona Beach, police say
DAYTONA BEACH – An employee at Burger King in Daytona Beach was stabbed Sunday afternoon, according to the Daytona Beach Police Department. The employee suffered lacerations to the face and fingers and was transported to Halifax Health Medical Center for treatment, police said. The suspect fled the scene on foot, police said. The investigation is ongoing.
