CANTON, Ohio – Zach Thomas will have to wait at least another year to get the call to the Hall of Fame. Thomas was not selected into the 2021 class, which was announced on Saturday night. The five players chosen were Peyton Manning, Charles Woodson, Alan Faneca, Calvin Johnson and John Lynch. During his 13-year career, Thomas racked up 1,734 tackles, 17 interceptions, 20.5 sacks and 14 forced fumbles.

He played for Los Angeles Rams (1985–1992), Pittsburgh Steelers (1993–1995), Carolina Panthers (1996, 1998-99) and San Francisco 49ers (1997). “We lost an amazing player and person this morning with the passing of Kevin Greene,” Rooney said. “So sad to hear the news of Kevin Greene passing away,” Steelers defensive lineman Cam Heyward said. MIAMI – Former NFL and University of Miami star Edgerrin James can now add Hall of Famer to his list of accolades. James announced Saturday on Instagram that he made the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The four-time Pro Bowl running back spent 11 seasons in the NFL with the Colts, Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks. He amassed 12,246 yards and 80 rushing touchdowns in his NFL career. He still holds the Colts’ franchise record for rushing yards (9,226) and career rushing touchdowns (64).

MIAMI - Pro Football Hall of Fame center Jim Langer, who was literally in the middle of the Miami Dolphins' 1972 perfect season, has died at the age of 71. Langer died Thursday at a Coon Rapids, Minnesota, hospital near his home of a sudden heart-related problem, said his wife, Linda. Langer was a first-year starter and played every offensive down for the NFL's only unbeaten, untied team that went 17-0. A Minnesota native, Langer played linebacker at South Dakota State and went undrafted. A four-time All-Pro choice, Langer was inducted into the Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility in 1987.

1998: Pro Football Hall of Fame halfback and kicker Doak Walker, who won two NFL championships in his six years with the Detroit Lions, dies at the age of 71 as a result of injuries suffered previously in a skiing accident. Walker led the NFL in scoring twice (1950 and 1955) and tallied 534 points in his career (330 on field goals and extra points). He was named the NFL Rookie of the Year in 1950 and also earned the Heisman Trophy as a junior at Southern Methodist University in 1948. The Doak Walker Award, first awarded in 1990, honors the top college football running back in America. Walker is also an inductee of the College Football Hall of Fame.
