For the 7th year, Local 10 News’ Earth Day Art Contest showcased the creativity, and love for the environment, of so many South Florida art students.

It’s the fifth year of the Local 10 eARTh Day Art Contest, and each year we are more impressed with the works of art submitted. All South Florida schools were invited to participate and were given five weeks to produce an original work of art that incorporates recycled or natural elements.

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – In the midst of the coronavirus crisis, some good news for South Florida schools. Local 10 announced the winner of the third annual eARTh Day Art Contest: Coral Gables Preparatory Academy students’ sculpture. Coral Gables students created this sculpture to celebrate Earth Day this year. Coral Gables students submitted this sculpture for the Earth Day Art contest. The Local 10 eARTh Day Art Contest is proudly sponsored by Publix, where every day is Earth Day.

Local 10 continues with its third annual eARTh Day Art Contest to recognize our talented art students and teachers. Back in February, all Monroe, Miami-Dade and Broward County school art programs were invited to submit an original work of art with an environmental theme. The school with the eARTh Day work of art that receives the most votes wins. The winning school will be announced on Local 10 News on Earth Day, April 19, and will receive $4,500 to use toward art supplies.
