Florida’s health department confirmed 4,599 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday and 55 more state resident deaths as a result of the virus.
The state has now verified 1,989,024 COVID-19 cases since the outbreak began and 32,504 resident deaths, according to the latest health department data.

Another 616 non-residents have died in Florida from COVID-19, putting the state over 33,000 deaths total.
Coronavirus-related deaths reported in the past day include 11 in Miami-Dade County, 11 in Broward County and 10 in Palm Beach County.
There have been 82,786 resident hospitalizations attributed to the novel coronavirus in the state.

At least 4,464,035 people have received vaccines in Florida, with 2,496,435 people in the state fully vaccinated.
Miami-Dade has had 558,377 people receive shots, Broward has had 394,307, Monroe 17,709 and Palm Beach County 353,156, according to the latest numbers posted by the state.
According to the CDC, over 750 cases of COVID-19 variants have been verified in Florida, most of any state. That includes at least 738 cases of the U.K. variant, 13 of the Brazilian variant and two cases of the variant initially identified in South Africa.
The statewide positivity rate for yesterday’s testing was 5.57%.
