A southwest Miami-Dade man was taken to jail Tuesday after Doral police accused him of going on an afternoon shopping — and apparently eating — spree at the Miami International Mall with a woman’s lost credit card.

House of Horror Haunted Carnival is making its spooky return to Miami International Mall for the first time since 2018. From September 30 until Halloween, those who enter the carnival will get to explore a “giant abandoned department store that has been overtaken and claimed.”
Mall evacuated after bomb threat
DORAL, Fla. – A scare at the Miami International Mall late Sunday afternoon when shoppers had to be evacuated because of a bomb threat. Doral police and Miami-Dade police arrived at the scene after calls of an explosives alert just after 5 p.m.. Officers went into the mall with explosive-detecting canines and did a search of the complex and determined there was no threat. An all clear was given and shoppers were allowed back inside. An investigation into who made that call is underway.
Macy's closes out a tough year with hope for 2021
The department store chain said Tuesday, Feb. 23 it anticipates 2021 as a recovery and rebuilding year as the company sets a foundation for growth. Still, the department store defended its physical store business, noting that online sales are two to three times higher in markets with Macy's stores. Macy's and other department stores are being threatening on multiple levels. “It could have been a terrible year for Macy’s," Jeff Gennette, Macy's CEO, told analysts on the earnings call Tuesday. It said 25% of Macy's online sales were fulfilled in its stores.
