Police officers from two law enforcement agencies surrounded an apartment complex on Thursday morning in northwestern Miami-Dade County.

MONROE COUNTY, Fla. – Marquiese Brown’s first mistake was making an illegal U-turn about 5 a.m., Monroe County Sheriff’s Office deputies said. Deputy William Guerra reported watching Brown, 28, of Miami, driving a Nissan Maxima on Oct. 16. He was on U.S. 1 near 55th Street in Marathon when Guerra stopped him, searched his car and reported finding three bags of suspicious gummy candies. The candy tested positive for marijuana. Brown is facing charges of trafficking in Oxycodone, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license.

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. Crafty car thieves were caught on camera using one vehicle to steal another. Not only did the owner have his car stolen, but inside was a backpack with work materials and important personal items like IDs. An accomplice in a gray sedan pulls up, using the bumper to push the stolen car out and away. The gray car has a sunroof.

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. - Miami-Dade police investigators are asking the community to help locate the driver of a silver Nissan Maxima that struck and killed a pedestrian in late September. Freddy Sanchez, 29, was walking home from work at about 8 p.m. Sept. 25 when he was struck by a driver along Northwest 79th Street and Northwest 10th Avenue. Police along with the family of the victim returned to the scene to hand out flyers. Sanchez was found lying in the street before being rushed to the hospital, while the driver of vehicle was nowhere to be found. "It's really, really a bad feeling that someone would do something to another human being and just don't run (for) any kind of help," his father, Freddy Sanchez Sr., said.

Detectives suspect Carnell Lee shot and killed his girlfriend at an apartment Wednesday in Broward County's city of Hollywood. HOLLYWOOD, Fla. - Detectives believe the mother of three girls who was found dead Wednesday morning in Broward County's city of Hollywood knew her killer. The Hollywood Police Department identified Coretta T. Bain's suspected killer as Carnell Spencer Lee Jr., her boyfriend. He is accused of stealing her black 2017 Nissan Maxima, which has dark tinted windows and Florida tag GJFT47. He released three images from a surveillance camera showing Lee dressed in black.

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. - A woman was fatally shot early Wednesday morning at an apartment complex in Hollywood, authorities confirmed. The shooting was reported around 4:30 a.m. inside the victim's apartment off Washington Street. Loved ones identified the victim as Corretta Bain, 31, and said her killer left the area in Bain's black Nissan Maxima. "I'm choked up with words right now," Bain's cousin said. Hollywood police have not confirmed whether Bain's car was stolen or released a description of the shooter.
