Eta likely to reform in the Caribbean and affect South Florida this weekend
In the meantime, the remnants of Eta are forecast to be moving over the Caribbean waters by Friday. Assuming a new tropical system develops as expected on Friday or Saturday, it might be called Theta – the next letter in the Greek alphabet. As the upper system and the tropical system come together near Florida, however, the systems will interact in difficult-to-predict ways. As the system tracks to the north, it might continue to drag tropical moisture over the Florida peninsula.
