Divers removed a body that had been floating in the Tarpon River on Friday in Fort Lauderdale.

An investigation is ongoing in Miami Gardens after a man’s body was pulled from a canal.

Authorities located the body of a South Florida man who went missing while hiking in California.

Police said a person discovered the body lying in a swale behind Fred Hunter’s Hollywood Memorial Gardens West, located off McKinley Street and North 64th Avenue in the city’s Boulevard Heights area.

According to MBPD they received a call just after 4 p.m. about a body in the water and, upon arrival, officers discovered a deceased male near the dock at the Indian Creek Waterway. The area is across the street from the Eden Roc Hotel Miami Beach. Detectives are on scene investigating further, according to police. MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – An investigation is ongoing after a man’s body was found in a Miami Beach canal. According to Miami Beach police, officers responded around 5 p.m. after receiving a call of a body in the water near Meridian Avenue and West 41st Street. “One of our officers was able to jump onto the boat of a nearby resident and they together canvased the area while the other officers were searching yard by yard,” said Miami Beach Police Officer Ernesto Rodriguez. According to police, the older man’s body was found several blocks away, in the water near Meridian and 45th Street. “The body will go to the medical examiner’s office where ultimately a cause of death will be determined,” said Officer Rodriguez.
