Before injuring 2, gunman broke into home shouting ‘I’m going to kill you,’ police say
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – After three men broke into a home on Monday in Miami-Dade County, Jorge Hernandez fired a shotgun inside, according to the Miami-Dade Police Department. A woman was shot in the arm and a man was shot in the abdomen. The woman who was injured told police officers she knows Hernandez, 38, a convicted felon who was on probation during the shooting, Garcia, 31, and Murado, 37. Officers found Hernandez had about half a gram of what appeared to be crack cocaine, and Murado had about a gram of cocaine, according to Miami-Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation Department records. On Tuesday, Hernandez, Garcia, and Murado were facing charges of burglary in an occupied dwelling and attempted murder.
Fireworks burn child, man near Miami-Dade’s Tamiami Park
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Consumer fireworks injured a child and a man on Thursday night at a home in Miami-Dade County, according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue. Fire Rescue personnel responded to the home at Southwest 105th Court and Southwest 21st Lane near Tamiami Park. Undercover officers use online ads to set up prostitution deals in effort to rescue sex trafficking victims, FBI agents say
Aside from arresting Edward Walker, 46, in Miami-Dade, agents also arrested Richard Walker and Tiphani Pereira for sex trafficking in Broward County. According to FBI Special Agent Joseph Oliver, an undercover officer responded to an ad on the Mega Personals site. The officer paid $240 to meet a sex trafficking victim for 30 minutes at the Crossland Economy Studios in Fort Lauderdale, according to the complaint. Edward Walker, who is not related to the Richard Walker case in Broward County, faces a federal charge of sex trafficking a minor or by force, fraud or coercion. Records show Richard Walker also faces a charge of false statements to a federal officer charge after denying his involvement despite the evidence.
