The shooting was reported just after 10 p.m. Sunday in the area of 7500 W. Oakland Park Blvd. According to Lauderhill police Lt. Mike Santiago, officers responded to the scene and found the victim, TaāQuan Smith, 27, of Lauderhill, unresponsive inside his vehicle with what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds. According to Santiago, it appears that Smith and another driver were heading west on Oakland Park Boulevard when the other driver shot at Smith for unknown reasons. Anyone with further information about the shooting is asked to call the Lauderhill Police Department at 954-497-4700.

The train was heading southbound when it hit the man, who died at the scene. About 50 passengers were on the train at the time, and Tri-Rail is busing them from the area. Eastbound traffic on West Oakland Park Boulevard was being diverted as Broward Sheriffās Office investigators worked the scene. Tri-Rail also advised passengers that there will be delays.

Per BSO standard policy, the two deputies who fired their weapons have been placed on administrative assignment pending further investigation.

Broward Sheriffās Office detectives said the man may have shot another driver, who then collapsed on a busy street. Security video of the man, who fled the scene, shows him entering, wandering around the inside of the front of a Publix and then exiting near the 200 block of East Oakland Park Boulevard. Investigators believe the man seen in the video was the same person caught on security video driving a white, full-sized pickup truck fleeing northbound on Northeast Second Avenue after the incident, leaving Oakland Park Boulevard at 6:19 p.m. Nov. 17. Detectives say a man seen in a Publix supermarket surveillance video have had something to do with the death of a driver after a traffic dispute.

The store is north of Oakland Park Boulevard at the Galt Ocean Mile. According to the food safety inspection report, a reinspection will take place before Nov. 11. The report states that in addition to all processing equipment within the deli, the store must also stop use of its wing bar and open deli hot case. All areas where the roach infestation was found must be cleaned, sanitized and chemically treated by someone who is licensed.

The shooting occurred about 12:30 a.m. at the 7-Eleven on Oakland Park Boulevard near Northeast Sixth Avenue. Prichard said the fight spilled out into the parking lot, where the clerk was shot once. Prichard declined to say what led to the dispute, but a man whose friend works at the 7-Eleven told Local 10 News it all started because of a cigar. "The safety and well-being of 7-Eleven franchisees and customers is of utmost importance," 7-Eleven said in a statement.
