MIAMI – Miami police officers are searching for two devious holiday grinches who used a pickup truck to steal a refrigerator that was meant to help feed the poor in Liberty City. Sherina Jones, a small business owner, placed the white “Village (FREE)DGE” next to the Roots Collective Black House clothing store along Northwest Seventh Avenue. With the help of dozens of donors, she started the effort on Aug. 10 and set up two other Village (FREE)DGE locations. Use single-use options, like salad dressing and condiment packets, and disposable items like food containers, plates, and utensils. If you decide to attend a gathering, bring your own food, drinks, plates, cups, and utensils.

MIAMI – Volunteers were up early and working at the Camillus House on a mission to serve the poor and the homeless on Thanksgiving in Miami-Dade County. Gil said the Camillus House team was required to get tested for the coronavirus ahead of the event, which is split into two groups. One of the groups includes the Camillus House residents who have all tested negative for the coronavirus and the other group includes people who are homeless. The Camillus House opened the dining room for a Thanksgiving feast full of coronavirus pandemic precautions, including plexiglass, testing, and temperature checks. MIAMI – Emilio and Gloria Estefan were serving Thanksgiving meals in Miami to those in need. The rhythm got a hold of the married musicians during their 12th annual "Feed a Friend" event Thursday. "We try to bring people together and, you know, give a little bit back," Emilio Estefan told Local 10 News. The Estefan Kitchen expects to feed between 2,000 and 3,000 people this year with traditional American dishes and Cuban classics. Emilio Estefan said they plan to expand into Orlando next year.

Crews at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport work around the clock to keep things moving during the holiday season. For travelers that means packing early and getting to the airport early, but for ground operations teams, that means planning to stay really busy. “There’s a lot of moving parts to the operation a lot of people don’t see,” said ground operations worker Sunny Moreta. Over 100 flights will depart from Fort Lauderdale’s terminal 3 on Wednesday, the busiest travel day for the airport.

MIAMI – Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Linus and the rest of the Peanuts gang will gather again for “Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” on Wednesday. The popular holiday special which made its debut in 1973 will air at 8 p.m. on Local 10. Along with the tale of how Charlie Brown wants to do something special for his friends, the cartoon “This is America, Charlie Brown: The Mayflower Voyagers" will air afterwards.
