Miami-Dade Police responded Sunday afternoon to the courtyard of a residential community regarding several people shot near Southwest 216th Street and Southwest 113th Avenue, just north of Goulds Park. When police arrived around 3 p.m., they said they discovered three male shooting victims — a 9, 14 and 17-year-old. Detectives did say that the key to solving the case will come from neighbors and other people who were in the area when the shooting happened. ā€œAt this point in time, we don’t have a lot of information, so we’re going to require the community’s assistance in providing additional information,ā€ Welch said.

Miami-Dade detectives identified the latest victims of a shooting near the intersection of Southwest 114th Court and Southwest 214th Street as Arrington L. Veargis, Jr. and Demetrius D. Campbell. Those responsible for killing Veargis and Campbell also wounded a 17-year-old girl, police said. According to Miami-Dade police, the bodies of the 18-year-olds were found near Southwest 224th Street and Southwest 115th Avenue. According to autopsy reports for both brothers, the cause of death for each teen has yet to be ruled on "pending further studies."
