MIAMI, Fla. – A South Florida medical student is under arrest after investigators charge that he made disturbing threats against Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell in postings on Twitter. According to the arrest report, Steven Marbury Dilauro, 31, of Pinecrest, posted several comments on his personal Twitter account, including one that stated: “Whoever wants to investigate this and come after me, feel free, but if I ever see Mitch McConnell and am not promptly shot dead, I will bounce his skull on the sidewalk..." Dilauro also stated several other threatening situations in which he would harm McConnell. The written threats were posted on Monday, Oct. 26, according to police. On Thursday, Nov. 5, Miami-Dade Police made contact with Dilauro and he admitted that he posted the comments “out of anger.”He has been charged with making written threats “to kill or do bodily injury.”Dilauro, whose occupation was listed as medical student on the arrest form, is behind bars at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is holding a red and white boat that was involved in a fatal boat crash off the Florida Keys on Sunday. The school’s website listed a varsity lacrosse team player with the same name as the boat operator. The captain of his lacrosse team, Alvarez wore the #6 jersey and played defense. According to the school’s announcement, students are set to return to school on Wednesday, administrators are organizing a special assembly for high school students and faculty, and therapists will be available for small group counseling sessions.

MIAMI – Detectives and prosecutors agreed with church administrators’ suspicions that two men were stealing from St. Louis Catholic Church and St. Louis Covenant School in Pinecrest, according to the Archdiocese of Miami. As a campaign manager and development director, the church entrusted Nelson C. Tarke with handling church funds. The Archdiocese of Miami released a statement Friday saying the church administrators reported Tarke’s alleged unauthorized spending to the Miami-Dade Police Department last year. The church reported having dismissed Tarke in May 2019 and Lambo in August 2019. Tarke was also active with CAMACOL, the Latin Chamber of Commerce and Industry of USA, and Lambo with the World Financial Group Miami-Dade and the REMii Group Inc.

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. - Two brothers were arrested after bringing a loaded gun, brass knuckles and knives to a Pinecrest high school, police said. Upon initial questioning, Mizelle did not have any items in his possession inside the school, but did comply with the officer's request to search his vehicle in the school parking lot. As Mizelle was being put into custody, he told the arresting officer that he had told his brother to stop bringing the gun to school several times. Further investigation revealed that the gun had been brought to the school for the last two weeks. Both brothers are facing identical chargers because they came to school in the same vehicle and had equal access to the weapons inside.
