PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – A 22-year-old man from Port Richey is making sure no one takes the “Florida man” title from him. Matthew Leatham, who has the shape of the state of Florida tattooed on his forehead, was arrested early Sunday morning after he called 911 two times to find a ride home, WTXL reported. According to a criminal complaint, Leatham cursed at the dispatcher during the calls. It’s unclear why he decided to call 911 for a ride home or where he was when the calls were made. Regardless, officers did not give Leatham a ride home, and instead gave him a ride to the Pasco County Jail, where he was booked on charges of misuse of the 911 system and possession of marijuana.

He hired an attorney who managed to get the father to return the rest of the books in January of last year. One comic featuring Batgirl has already sold for $132,000.

HOMOSASSA SPRINGS, Fla. – State and federal wildlife officials are investigating reports of a manatee found with “Trump” drawn on its back in a Florida river. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission say the aquatic mammal was spotted over the weekend in the Homosassa River in Citrus County. Wildlife officials are looking for any information regarding the animal’s harassment. A nonprofit group that protects endangered animals is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to a conviction in the case.

PALMETTO BAY, Fla. – Video on social media showed what looked like a military tank driving around a Palmetto Bay neighborhood on Sunday. Commenters on the Cutler Bay Social Facebook page wondered if the tank was part of a military operation. But a spokesperson with the Florida National Guard said the tank was not part of its fleet, and military experts said the tank appeared to be a British combat vehicle. The matter was cleared up by Miami-Dade Police, which issued a statement that read:“Miami-Dade Police Department, Village of Palmetto Bay units received reports of a military-style vehicle observed on the Village roads. “It’s a poor choice of timing to have military equipment like that in a residential neighborhood,” resident James Woodard said.

GRAND HAVEN, Mich. – A man who sued his parents for getting rid of his pornography collection has won a lawsuit in western Michigan and can seek compensation. U.S. District Judge Paul Maloney ruled in favor of David Werking, who said his parents had no right to throw out his collection. He lived at their Grand Haven home for 10 months after a divorce before moving to Muncie, Indiana. “There is no question that the destroyed property was David’s property,” Maloney said Monday. Werking's parents said they had a right to act as his landlords.

SARASOTA, Fla. – A Florida man has found a badly decomposing body inside a trash can. The unidentified man told the Manatee County Sheriff’s office he’d been holding the 55-gallon container for a friend who promised to retrieve it later. But the friend never returned and after about two months, the man smelled a foul odor and opened the container. The sheriff’s office is investigating the identity of the remains and how they died. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – A mother made her 2-year-old son smoke THC from a vape pen on more than one occasion because she believed the marijuana would help him eat and sleep more, according to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office. The woman said Clarisse would let her housemates watch the boy even though they were known to drink excessively, records show. In a separate Snapchat video, Clarisse smokes the vape pen while lying next to the toddler, the report said. Deputies said from there, Clarisse would put the vape pen in the boy’s mouth so he would smoke it in order to help his sleep schedule and appetite. Clarisse was arrested Tuesday on a child neglect charge.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Kentucky woman is sending out what she calls an “urgent plea” after a box containing her mother’s cremated remains went missing after she mailed it to her sister in Florida. Amy Redford says she mailed the package on Sept. 9. It was in a box with a bright red label saying, ""CREMATED REMAINS." Redford says the tenant realized the box wasn’t hers and put it outside for the carrier to take. Then it went missing.

An Australian returned home and was surprised to discover that his kitchen ceiling had collapsed under the weight of two large pythons apparently fighting over a mate. David Tait entered his home in Laceys Creek in Queensland state on Monday and found a large chunk of his ceiling lying on his kitchen table. The snakes have an estimated combined weight of 45 kilograms (100 pounds). “I would assume that it was two males fighting over a female that was nearby in the roof,” Brown said. The males were returned to the wild, but the suspected third snake hasn't been found.

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. It was literally kangaroo court on Wednesday when a Fort Lauderdale man entered a plea of not guilty in connection with misdemeanor charges he is facing for housing a kangaroo in his home. The kangaroo, named Jack Jack, escaped from his home just off of North Andrews Avenue and 15th Street in mid-July. Free Jack Jack on GoFundMe was to help Macias be able to move to a zoned area so he could keep the kangaroo. He said he would use the money to move to a new place where he could keep Jack Jack legally and pay for the proper licenses and permits. His lawyer, Steven Schaet, submitted to the court a written plea of not guilty.

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. Hollywood police have arrested a man who they said confessed to following women throughout the city in an attempt to conduct lewd acts toward or with, authorities announced on Friday. The victim told Local 10 News that she kept running, but went a bit faster when she saw that the had man made a U-turn. Hollywood police say James Ducker, 32, tried to lure women into his blue Chevrolet Malibu. (Hollywood Police Department)Police said Ducker confessed to following women for several blocks and maneuvering his car to block or stop his victims. Anyone who believes they have been victimized by Ducker is asked to call the Hollywood Police Department.

KEY LARGO, Fla. A Key Largo man was arrested Thursday night after a domestic dispute led to his girlfriend falling from the hood of his moving GMC pickup truck, authorities announced on Friday. According to Monroe County Sheriffs Office spokesman Adam Linhardt, witnesses called 911 after seeing the 29-year-old victim falling from the hood of the truck and Luna fleeing the scene. Linhardt said Luna drove with his girlfriend on the hood of his truck until the 900 block of Lobster Lane, when she fell off, landing on the ground unconscious, but breathing. Witnesses told deputies that Luna initially got out of the truck after his girlfriend fell, but then got back inside and drove away. Linhardt said Luna confessed to drinking alcohol before the incident and told deputies that he had a medical marijuana card and THC cartridges in his pocket.

SANIBEL ISLAND, Fla. – A Florida mother was shocked to find her young son’s day care had written on his stomach in black ink to remind her to bring more diapers. Heather Chisum posted photos of her son Milo to Facebook after she found the Sanibel Island day care’s message on the boy’s tummy. Chisum, a single mother, said the day care usually puts a daily report in her children’s lunch boxes, detailing her son or daughter’s behavior and whether they need additional wipes or diapers. But while changing Milo’s diaper after bringing him home Monday, Chisum noticed the message written in magic marker. In her post, Chisum asked whether she was over-exaggerating in her anger, but nearly everyone who commented backed her up wholeheartedly.

PHOENIX, Ariz. – A 62-year-old man was cited in Arizona this week after trying to disguise a fake skeleton as a passenger just to use the HOV lane. The Arizona Department of Public Safety says a trooper pulled over the man on Thursday after noticing he had placed a fake skeleton in the passenger's front seat. The skeleton was sitting upright, wearing a hat and tied to the front seat. Department spokesman Raul Garcia said troopers cite about 7,000 HOV lane violators every year. Last April, a man was pulled over after driving in the HOV lane with a mannequin wearing a sweatshirt, baseball cap and sunglasses.

NEW DEHLI, – An Indian man taking his rooster to compete in a cockfight was killed after being attacked by the animal. Saripalli Chanavenkateshwaram Rao, 50, died Jan. 15 when he was cut in the neck by a blade attached to the rooster’s claw, CNN reports. The father of three later died at the hospital of a stroke. Rao was travelling with the rooster to a cockfighting competition. When the rooster escaped, Rao attempted to grab it when he was attacked by the bird.

– A woman was arrested after she used her dog’s urine to help her pass a drug test. Julie Miller, 40, was meeting with parole officials in Kentucky as part of a regular probation visit when officers caught her sneaking in a sample of urine in an attempt to pass it off as her own. While being questioned by police, Miller admitted the urine was not hers, but instead was from her dog. Miller acknowledged she brought in the dog’s urine because she would have failed the test without it after recently using methamphetamine and Suboxone. Miller was arrested and charged with tampering with physical evidence.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – A man who looks a lot like Santa robbed a bank Monday and yelled “Merry Christmas” as he threw the stolen money into the street. David Oliver claimed to have a weapon when he walked into a Colorado Springs bank and took the money. Witnesses say after leaving the bank, Oliver grabbed money out of the bag and threw it into the street while yelling his holiday greeting. After spreading his own version of Christmas cheer, Oliver sat down and waited for the police to arrive. KKTV reports bystanders collected the money and returned it to the bank.

All sounds normal, until you learn that he was dressed as Fred Flintstone and the vehicle he was "driving" was the footmobile made famous in the popular cartoon show. Don Swartz (aka, Fred Flintstone) was driving around the Pasco County area in his Smart Car disguised as the footmobile, WTVT reports. Full Screen 1 / 5Pasco County deputy H. Echevarria pulled Swartz over for allegedly speeding in a neighborhood and issued him a notice to appear. "A very special thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Don and Trina Swartz for being such great sports... Yabba Dabba Doo!"

SIDNEY, N.Y. – A man who won a $1 million lottery jackpot died just weeks after striking it rich. Donald Savastano of Sidney, New York won the "Merry Millionaire" scratch off game on Jan. 3. WABC reports Savastano had planned to spend the money to help fund his retirement after having worked as a carpenter. "This is going change our lives, to tell you the truth," Savastano said after winning. Savastano, who was born in Queens and later moved to upstate New York, died on Jan. 26, a little over three weeks since winning the lottery.

COCOA, Fla. – A Florida woman trying to escape from a cat was run over by her own car, authorities said. The woman was parked on the lawn of a home in Cocoa Friday evening. She was getting ready to leave when the cat pounced into the car and attacked, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Troopers said the woman scrambled out of the vehicle to get away from the feline, but she forgot the car was in reverse. The car rolled over her, into the street and then struck a parked car.

It was a story that was too good to be true... unfortunately, it was.

ORLANDO, Fla. – A bald eagle appeared to be protecting a wounded bald eagle that had been trapped in a storm drain outside of Orlando on Thursday. Orange County deputies used crime scene tape to block access to the eagles and closed traffic at Curry Ford Road near Goldenroad Road. About 6 p.m., a Florida Fish & Wildlife employee scared the bald eagle into flying away. The other eagle fell back into the storm drain. The eagle was stuck for about 90 minutes before Orange County Fire Rescue helped to get the bird out shortly after.

GOLDEN, Colo. – Who knew golfers had it in them? In a supposed gentlemanly sport with a rule book as thick as the Manhattan yellow pages (remember them? ), two golfers were caught on video exchanging blows on a Colorado golf course. But just when things started getting interesting, the action died down and the fight came to a listless end. However, the two combatants shook hands to show that when it comes to golf, haymakers and birdies don't always fit.
