It happened in the area of Northwest 7th Avenue and Northwest 112th Street. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded and pronounced the man dead at the scene. Lamborghini SUV crashes in Northwest Miami Dade after hitting pedestrian several blocks away
NORTHWEST MIAMI DADE, Fla. – At least one person has been taken to a local hospital after the driver of a silver Lamborghini SUV crashed into another car in Northwest Miami-Dade County. In video exclusively obtained by Local 10 News, police officers are seen surrounding the Lamborghini with their guns drawn. According to police, this all started a couple blocks down the street, near 119th Street and 15th Avenue. AdThat’s when police said the Lamborghini hit the pedestrian. The person hit has been identified as a 33-year-old Hispanic male, and he is listed in critical condition.
FEMA site at Miami-Dade College sees uptick after Gov. announcement for school employees
NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. – Exuberance from Miami-Dade County Public School workers who showed up Thursday afternoon at the Miami-Dade College’s North Campus, the site of FEMA supported, state-run vaccination sites. For Pre K to 12 school employees 50-years-of-age or older, state planners say you can go to any state-run vaccine site. If you are a school employee between the ages of 18- to 49-years-old, you can only go to the FEMA supported, state-run vaccination sites, which includes the main hub at Miami-Dade North Campus. Employees who want a vaccination must show a school identification, according to state planners. A rule goes into effect on Friday that only those with the proper forms will be able to get the vaccine.
Videos show family trying to extinguish flames coming from kitchen, dog survives house fire
NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. – A family’s house in Northwest Miami-Dade filled with smoke on Thursday and when firefighters were able to access the home, they discovered a heavy blaze. AdFirefighters rescued a family dog named “Chichi.” There were three dogs in the home at the time of the fire. Local 10 News learned the dog is recovering at a neighbor’s house and is expected to be OK. Even after the blaze was under control, the area near the house remained blocked off hours later. Firefighters remained on the scene making sure that there are no hot spots and said they are continuing the investigation it how the fire started.
Vehicles badly damaged following early morning crash in Northwest Miami-Dade
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Authorities are investigating a nasty car crash in Northwest Miami-Dade. It happened early Sunday morning in the area of Northwest 23rd Avenue and 54th Street. At least two vehicles were involved, and it appeared one of them hit a pole. Both were very badly damaged. Police have not said what led to the crash or if there were any injuries.

NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. – A pick-up truck riddled with bullets sat in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven near Northwest 95th Street and 17th Avenue on Saturday night. Police are working to piece together what happened — the truck may have pulled in to the gas station with the victims inside already shot. Officers arriving to the gas station at 9455 NW 17th Avenue found one man shot and a 7-year-old injured in the gunfire. A 7-year-old, who was grazed by a bullet, was released after being treated at the scene, according to police. AdInvestigators said they don’t have much of a description of the shooter and need the public’s help to get information.
Miami-Dade police investigating stabbing in front of convenience store
NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. – Police say they have detained a woman in connection with an investigation into a stabbing in front of a convenience store. On Saturday afternoon around 4:15 p.m., Miami-Dade Police were called to Northwest 79th Street and NW 32nd Avenue after a report of a fight. The man was transported to a local hospital by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue. Detectives are investigating details of the stabbing and tell Local 10 that the information, at this time, is preliminary. There is no information about the condition of the person who was stabbed.
Police get zero tips about 8 people shot at park, but pastor says someone knows something

Pastor Keith Butler said his son was victimized by “two young terrorists.”On Thursday, Butler was speaking from the basketball court where, only a few days earlier, a mass shooting took place. Officer shoots at man with knife after dispute with mother allegedly turned violent
MIAMI, Fla. – The man who police say lunged at them with a knife has been charged with battery and assault on a law enforcement officer. According to Miami Police, 23-year-old Fitzroy Haughton and his 58-year-old mother were fighting at a home at Northwest 5th Avenue and Northwest 56th Street on Friday when a family member called police. When officers arrived around 8:37 p.m., Haughton was walking down the street with a knife, according to police. He refused commands to put down the knife and then lunged at officers and that’s when one of the officers opened fire once, but did not hit Haughton, according to police. Haughton has been charged with one count of simple battery and one count of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.
Miami police investigating shooting in Northwest Miami-Dade
NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE – Miami police are on the scene of a shooting of a 25-year-old man. According to reports from the scene, the man was shot in the leg and transported Jackson Memorial Hospital in stable condition. From Sky10, dozens of police could be seen in the 600 block of Northwest 10th Street, west of I-95 and north of the Miami River, at the scene of the shooting. Officers were also surrounding a box truck, which appeared to have hit a fence, but it’s not clear if that truck was involved in the shooting incident. A room where a fire completely destroyed a house on Northwest 29th Street. Arias said the family, her sister, husband, and 7 children lost everything in the blaze, including prescription eyeglasses, clothes, shoes, computers, and Christmas gifts.

Bizarre-acting man at NW Miami-Dade café shoots gun into air injuring 2 people
NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. – The owner of a Northwest Miami-Dade restaurant reportedly tackled a gunman who shot into the air injuring two people at the Gran Parada Café and Restaurant. She said he was swaying back and forth and acting “bizarrely.” That’s when he pulled out a gun and fired into the air, the woman said. It was then that the restaurant owner jumped up from the bar and tackled the gunman at the door. Miami-Dade police said one person struck was in the ankle and a bullet grazed the other victim. Two people were seen being taken inside Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.
9-year-old safe after tree crashes through apartment during storm
Mae Frierson lives in one of the units in the multi-family unit along Northwest 4th Court near 69th Street. Her 9-year-old grandson was having dinner when the tree came crashing down and into the apartment and a ceiling fan fell within inches of the boy. Photographs show the weight of the tree as it sent debris flying through the ceiling. “Never underestimate any kind of storm especially when you have strong winds, the rains and a lot of flooding,” Carroll said. Inspectors came out to look at the property and they will return to make sure it is safe for anyone to come back once the storm passes.

Coach killed by 15-year-old ‘nephew,’ police say; more than $7,000 found in boy’s jeans
NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. – A Miami Senior High School football coach was murdered with his own gun by a teen who he considered to be his nephew, according to an arrest affidavit. Smith considered him to be like a brother, according to police. There is no word on a motive, but detectives said they did find more than $7,000 of Smith’s money hidden in the 15-year-old boy’s clothes. Detectives discovered jeans containing $7,450 inside the pocket that were discovered inside of a plastic garbage bag inside the home. The attorney said that the teen fell through the cracks despite all of his family’s efforts to get him help.

He is the son of Lamar Alexander, one of two suspects killed in the hijacking of a UPS truck driver last December. Detective Alvaro Zabaleta said on Monday that the teen was not injured in the shooting Monday. Man in custody after barricading himself on the roof of a McDonald’s in Northwest Miami-Dade
NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. – A man is in police custody after climbing onto the roof of a McDonald’s in Northwest Miami-Dade Wednesday morning. A McDonald’s employee tells Local 10 they noticed something wasn’t right with their electrical restaurant equipment. The restaurant’s manager went onto the roof to search for the problem. He said he saw a man who was acting unusual and tossed a hammer and other items off of the roof. Miami-Dade Fire rescue used a ladder truck to get the man to the ground.
Carjacking ends near Boys & Girls Clubs
NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. – A suspect remains on the loose after an armed carjacking around 2 p.m. led police on a chase that began in North Miami and ended in Northwest Miami-Dade. After the short chase that came to a halt near the Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami building at 10915 N.W. 14th Ave., the two men bailed out of the car and took off on foot. One of the suspects was apprehended behind The Boys and Girls Club. Another remains at large.

NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. – A United States Postal worker defended herself from a man who jumped into her truck, laid across her lap and started making demands. The worker was delivering mail around 11 a.m. on Christmas Eve at the intersection of N.W. While her truck was stopped, she says a man jumped into the open door of her vehicle. According to police, Louis then jumped onto the front of the mail truck and grabbed the driver’s side windshield wiper. Video shows him pulling off the wiper, then rolling off the truck and leaving the scene.

MIAMI - A 29-year-old man who was struck by a hit-and-run driver in Northwest Miami-Dade about two weeks ago has died. "I'm trying so hard not to cry right now," said Angel Sanchez on Friday, who is the brother of the victim, Freddy Sanchez. Sanchez was hit near 10th Avenue as he walked home from work. He was hit so hard that the car's bumper came off, along with Sanchez's shoes. Witnesses said he went airborne.

Sister of hit-and-run victim hopes surveillance footage helps catch driver
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. - Surveillance video captured the moment a woman was fatally struck by a car in Northwest Miami-Dade. Loved ones said 46-year-old Yenitza Roques was walking her dog at the Country Lane Condominiums on Northwest 67th Avenue near 169th Street. "She was hit by one vehicle making a U-turn," said Yesenia Roques, Yenitza's sister. "There is no humanity left in this world when someone can hit a human being and not wait for the police to arrive," Yesenia said. Yenitza's dog was sent airborne, hitting the pavement hard but ultimately surviving.
