Lamborghini SUV crashes in Northwest Miami Dade after hitting pedestrian several blocks away
NORTHWEST MIAMI DADE, Fla. – At least one person has been taken to a local hospital after the driver of a silver Lamborghini SUV crashed into another car in Northwest Miami-Dade County. In video exclusively obtained by Local 10 News, police officers are seen surrounding the Lamborghini with their guns drawn. According to police, this all started a couple blocks down the street, near 119th Street and 15th Avenue. AdThat’s when police said the Lamborghini hit the pedestrian. The person hit has been identified as a 33-year-old Hispanic male, and he is listed in critical condition.
Federal agents on financial probe were involved in deadly shooting in Coral Gables
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Federal agents shot and killed a person who brandished a weapon on Friday in Coral Gables, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Officer Kelly Denham, a spokeswoman for the Coral Gables Police Department, said the shooting happened near the intersection of Mantua Avenue and Alahambra Circle. ICE HSI agents were involved in a fatal shooting on Friday in Coral Gables. Collision causes van to slam into bedroom wall of house in NW Miami-Dade
NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. – An overnight collision caused a scare for a man sleeping when a van crashed into his home. The crash happened just before 5 a.m. on the corner of Northwest 10th Avenue and 143rd Street. While police have yet to say how the crash happened, the person who identified himself as the van’s driver told Local 10 that he was on his way into work when another car hit him. Crews spent hours working to get the van removed after it was wedged inside the outer wall of the home’s bedroom. The man who was inside the home did not want to speak on camera, but told Local 10 News he feels OK, but he is a bit shaken up.
Women’s street fight leaves 1 injured in South Beach
MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – Miami Beach detectives are investigating a stabbing on Friday in South Beach. Witnesses said the stabbing happened while two women were fighting near the intersection of 14th Street and Washington Avenue. According to Officer Ernesto Rodriguez, a spokesman for the Miami Beach Police Department, officers found a woman injured near the intersection of 13th Street and Collins Avenue. Miami Beach Fire Rescue personnel took the victim to Jackson Memorial Hospital. Shootings, beatings and robberies have become a regular occurrence in the heart of South Beach.
Sudden blast appears to cause early morning fire that hospitalized 2 people
NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. – Two people are hospitalized after suffering burns from an early morning housefire Saturday. The force of the blast was so great it blew part of the efficiency’s roof onto a home next door. “I mean it rattled this place,” said neighbor Sylvester Williams. They made a fire attack and ended up finding a couple of victims,” Ryan Rothenberg of Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said. The conditions of the two people are unknown at this time and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
8 injured when 2 gunmen shoot into crowd at NW Miami-Dade park, police say
NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. – Miami-Dade police are now confirming that a total of eight people were hit by bullets when two people walked up to a crowd that was at basketball courts in Little River Park and began shooting. Police said the incident began after 7 p.m. Sunday when the pair walked up to a crowd before pulling out guns, opening fire, and then running away. Six adults, ranging in age from 18 to 27 years old, and two juveniles were hit in the midst of the chaos. One of those injured was a 16-year-old who was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma for treatment. Shooting in Miami’s Liberty City leaves man dead
Police are investigating a shooting in Northwest Miami DadeMIAMI – A man was killed during a shooting on Thursday in Miami’s Liberty City neighborhood, police said. After Shot Spotter technology detected an afternoon shooting, officers responded to the area of Northwest 62nd Street and Northwest 15th Avenue. Officers found a man had been shot near the Liberty Square public housing complex, also known as the Pork & Beans housing projects. Miami Fire Rescue personnel declared him dead at the scene. Family of 9 escapes early morning fire in Northwest Miami Dade

Now, the family of 9 is staying with the relative after a fire destroyed their Northwest Miami Dade home. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue reported that crews responded Saturday at 2 a.m. to a first-alarm house fire near Northwest 29th Avenue and Northwest 29th Street. A room where a fire completely destroyed a house on Northwest 29th Street. Arias said the family, her sister, husband, and 7 children lost everything in the blaze, including prescription eyeglasses, clothes, shoes, computers, and Christmas gifts.
Armed robbers get away after roughing up clerk, grabbing cash at 7-Eleven
NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. – A 7-Eleven store was the scene of a hold-up early Saturday evening. The clerk behind the counter said three men came in and demanded money from the cash register. The clerk, who did not want to be identified, said the armed robbers “roughed him up” and took “everything” that was in the register. Police: Missing girl may be with 31-year-old man
NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. – Miami-Dade police are still searching for 12-year-old Anastasia Vela-Fernandez who was last seen on Aug. 25. On Thursday, authorities released more details – that the girl may be with 31-year-old Jimmy Vela. According to authorities, Vela-Fernandez was last seen just after 6 p.m. on Aug. 25 in the 6000 block of Northwest 30th Avenue. Police said Vela-Fernandez is about 5-feet tall and weighs 105 pounds. On Saturday, Aug. 16, the girl’s family said that she vanished from her home in Miami Lakes and was seen in the area of Cowpen Road and Simmons Street, near Miami Lakes Drive, police said.

It was the sound of the ceiling collapsing above her bed and then the feeling of debris crashing down on top of her. Guas said an unaddressed leak coupled with rain bands from Tropical Storm Isais resulted in the ceiling giving way in more than one spot. “My concern is that I don’t want it collapsing on me because mine has already been leaking in here,” neighbor Mamie Wiggins said. We need, you know, we can’t be like this and now we can’t even sleep in here.”

Witnesses told detectives it appeared to be a drive-by shooting and the gun used may have been a high-powered weapon. The witness said she quickly realized she wasn’t seeing someone hit by a car, but a multiple shooting. “(He was shot) in his side, his back, he was shot like 5 or 6 times.”Family identified the victim of the drive-by as Garry Laguerre.
Stolen car hits NW Miami-Dade house so hard it is unsafe to live in
NORTHWEST MIAMI DADE, Fla. The driver of a stolen car slammed into a home in Northwest Miami Dade Thursday so hard that the house has now been deemed unsafe to live in by city code inspectors. You heard the screeching of the noise and then there was the turning and the car flipped over, Jalisa Canon, who witnessed the crash, said. Tire marks can be seen near the roof of a home in northwest Miami-Dade after a stolen car crashed into it, then flipped over. Miami Dade Police told Local 10 that the SUV was reported stolen. When officers arrived on the scene of the crashed vehicle in northwest Miami Dade, it was the Toyota RAV 4 they had been following.
Two people shot, teenager one of the victims
NORTHWEST MIAMI DADE, Fla. – A shooting in northwest Miami Dade left two people injured Saturday night. Miami-Dade police said one victim is possibly a 16-year-old who was sitting outside of an apartment building on Northwest 21st Avenue and 66th Street when the shooting occurred. Both victims were transferred to Jackson Memorial Hospital in stable condition.
Puppy may have been shot in face, but doctors still not sure what caused injuries
HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – Veterinarians at VCA Hollywood Animal Hospital said metal found in a one-year-old dog’s jaw could possibly be an indication that the Doberman was shot. It’s heartbreaking, how someone can shoot a dog,” said Esteban Lopez, a volunteer with the Doberman Rescue League. “Here you can see the metal,” said Natalie Savo, DVM, a staff veterinarian at Hollywood Animal Hospital, pointing at an X-ray of the Doberman’s mouth.
