MIAMI – A driver has succumbed to his injuries after crashing his car overnight into a building in the city of Miami, authorities confirmed Monday morning. The car crashed with such force that it created a 15-foot by 10-foot hole. Hazmat and heavy rescue crews came out to rescue the driver and also help residents of the building. MIAMI – Detectives arrested a 56-year-old man on Thursday in the murder of a 93-year-old man in Miami’s Silver Bluff Estates neighborhood. Officer Kenia Fallat, a spokeswoman for the Miami Police Department said detectives believe Silverio Fonte was involved in the murder of Humberto Mijares. About two decades ago, Fonte was arrested for murder in Miami-Dade County. Teresita Menendez said she found Mijare’s dog Whiskers wandering alone on Tuesday night. In 2003, Silverio Fonte was convicted in another murder and sentenced to 20 years in prison.

MIAMI – A large hole was left in the side of the Brickell Buick & GMC dealership in Miami early Monday morning after a vehicle crashed into a motorcyclist and then into the building. The dealership is located off Southwest Eighth Street and Sixth Avenue. Miami police spokeswoman Kenia Fallat said the motorcyclist was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center in very serious condition. Witnesses said the vehicle involved in the collision was a luxury car. The vehicle has since been towed from the scene and Southwest Eighth Street has reopened to traffic.

MIAMI - A security guard is in critical condition after he was shot during a robbery at a Coconut Grove hotel that was closed for construction. The hotel is closed until next year while it undergoes renovation. MIAMI - A driver fled after crashing an SUV into the yard of a Miami home Tuesday morning, police said. The crash occurred on the front porch of a home on Northwest 32nd Street.
