MEDLEY, Fla. – Federal agents were back at a Medley warehouse on Wednesday, recovering the remainder of a massive stolen haul of personal protective equipment. Exclusive video obtained by Local 10 News, which can be viewed at the top of this page, shows officers uncovering stolen medical gloves inside the warehouse. It’s the rest of what police say was a huge amount of PPE stolen from a Coral Springs shipping container just one week ago. The thieves stole an entire shipping container with the federally registered medical gloves inside. “They executed the search warrant and located the rest of the gloves.”The gloves were inside a tall tower of black plastic.

Inside, police recovered 11 pallets packed with medical gloves, which is just part of what was stolen back on Sunday, Oct. 25 from outside a Coral Springs warehouse. A giant shipping container was full of the PPE, which is valued at a million dollars, but during a pandemic it’s priceless. “Our detectives worked tirelessly through the weekend and today they were able to effect an arrest,” said Medley Police Officer Deglys Chavarria. “Their role was they were essentially selling the stolen gloves,” said Officer Chavarria. Police said they recovered PPE supplies that can be provided to area hospitals that need it.

DORAL, Fla. - Doral residents have complained about the emissions coming from Waste Management's Medley landfill for years. The residents refer to the growing landfill as "Mount Trashmore." Juan Carlos "J.C." Bermudez, the mayor, remembers the landfill was already there when the city was founded in 2003. Now, Doral residents are worried about a plan to bring more garbage to the landfill. Waste Management wants the landfill, which serves a population of about 4.5 million, to be the height of a 30-floor building.
